Things to Do in Atlanta (While at IPPE)

We are excited to be heading to the Georgia World Congress Center tomorrow morning to kick off IPPE 2014. We will be in booth no. 7867, so please come say “hi” if you will be there! Map the rest of your show here.

Are you in from out of town for the show? As a local Atlanta business, we wanted to give you a run down of a few of our favorite hometown stops for your trip!

1. The Vortex

Midtown: 878 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Little Five Points: 438 Moreland Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307

For 20 years, The Vortex has been serving delicious, greasy food full of attitude. Try out one of their famous burgers, and be sure to take in all of the decor. If you are up for a challenge, take on the Double Bypass Burger, which was featured on the Travel Channel’s Man vs. Food.

2. Westside Provisions District

Location: 1100-1210 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30318

The Westside PD is full of places to shop, eat and see. The architecture is trendy and the construction is booming. A few of our favorites in this area of Atlanta:

  • JCT. Kitchen & Bar: Excellent spot for a drink or appetizer in the upstairs bar, and don’t be surprised if you find some great, local music while you’re there. Head downstairs to the restaurant for a delicious, Southern supper.
  • Ormsby’s: Great for lunch, dinner, or having a little fun with your co-workers after a busy day at the Expo. Ormsby’s is known for their plethora of games downstairs, including Backgammon, Bocce, Darts, Pool, Shuffleboard, and board games.
  • West Egg Cafe: Delicious, Southern cooking. If you’ve yet to try chicken and waffles, this is the place to order it. Served with pepper jelly syrup, we recommend getting the pimento mac and cheese as a side dish. You won’t be disappointed!
  • Yeah! Burger: Be prepared to stand in line, but know it’s worth the wait. Almost everything they serve is sourced locally, from the buns to the side dishes. If you are vegan, gluten-free, or have other food allergies, Yeah! Burger can cater to your food needs, which makes it a great place for everyone on your team!

3. World of Coca-Cola

Location: 121 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

It’s no question Coca-Cola in an Atlanta icon. Check out their history, and sample Coca-Cola products from around the world in their tasting room the the World of Coca-Cola.

4. Live Music and Shows

We realize you are likely exhausted after a full day of networking at the show, but if you still have some energy left, Atlanta is a fabulous place to catch a show. A few of our favorite places to catch a concert or musical:
